In Odesa Eparchy, prayers offered for repose of Kulikovo Field victims

On May 2, 2025, the 11th anniversary of the tragic events in Kulikovo Field in Odesa, memorial services were held in all churches and monasteries of the Odesa Eparchy of the UOC, reports the eparchy's press service.
"On this day in 2014, mass unrest in the city center and Kulikovo Field took the lives of many people. It remains one of the most painful chapters in the modern history of our city," the statement says.
The clergy and believers, with the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail, offered prayers for the repose of all who lost their lives that day.
Auxiliary bishops of the Odesa Eparchy – Archbishop Viktor and Bishop Anastasy of Ovidiopol – along with the local clergy, held a memorial service at the Dormition Cathedral in Odesa.
"Heavenly Kingdom to all who passed into eternity that day. We pray that such a tragedy never happens again. May our hearts remain open to peace, mercy, and truth," the UOC eparchy wrote.
As earlier reported by the UOJ, a procession was also held in Odesa with the Kasperov Icon of the Mother of God.
