Outrage in Kharkiv: Two men snap Nazi salute photo at Holocaust Memorial
Two guys took a photo with a Nazi salute in front of the Holocaust memorial in Drobytsky Yar, Kharkiv. As reported on April 23, 2025, by the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, the photo was published on one of the well-known Telegram channels in Kharkiv.
The photo shows two young men imitating a Nazi salute at the memorial in Drobytsky Yar. Another person, apparently, is photographing them at that moment.
At this site during World War II, more than 17,000 Jews from Kharkiv and the region were shot.
The United Jewish Community of Ukraine has appealed to law enforcement to hold the offenders accountable.
“These three are not 'boys', not 'jokes', not 'foolishness'. I appeal to law enforcement – find them,” commented Kharkiv Mayor Terekhov on the situation.
The police have opened a criminal case under the article for promoting the national socialist regime.
Earlier, teh UOJ wrote about how hate speech against UOC believers in modern Ukraine reproduces the techniques of Nazi anti-Semitic propaganda of the 20th century.
