On March 29, 2025, Metropolitan Yefrem of Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol performed a monastic tonsure at the Transfiguration of the Lord Cathedral in Kryvyi Rih, reports the press service of the Kryvyi Rih Eparchy.

The novice of the cathedral, Nadiya Kolomeichuk, was tonsured into the rasophore with the name Lukiya, in honor of the holy martyr Lukiya of Syracuse.

A relic of the martyr Lukiya is permanently located in the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral and is venerated as one of the greatest shrines. The relics of the saint were gifted from the Church of the Holy Prophet Jeremiah in Venice.

After the tonsure, Metropolitan Yefrem gave spiritual guidance to the newly tonsured nun Lukiya.

As reported by the UOJ, earlier, a monastic tonsure was performed at the Mikhnovsky Monastery in Volyn.
