Constantinople hierarch: Orthodoxy and Hellenism are united and inseparable

Archbishop Makarios of Australia stated that the bond between Orthodoxy and Hellenism is indissoluble. He made this remark during a sermon dedicated to Greek Independence Day.
“Orthodoxy and Hellenism, like two wings of the same body, journey together, united and inseparable, through the skies of our Nation’s history. This unbreakable and continuous bond is emphatically reminded to us on this day, in which, as our great poet Kostis Palamas wrote, 'two freedoms unite,'" the hierarch said.
He emphasized that the longing for freedom, along with the unwavering belief that “with God nothing will be impossible,” led to the independence of the homeland.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Synaxis of the Ecumenical Patriarchate condemned the 'Russian World' ideology.
