The NGO Chesno included Metropolitan Onuphry, along with other hierarchs and clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), in its "Register of Z-Traitors" as a means of exerting pressure on the judicial and law enforcement systems. This was reported by experts from the national newspaper Law and Business.

They noted that in 2024 alone, "Chesno" received over 11.3 million UAH from organizations such as NED, the International Foundation "Vidrodzhennia" (Renaissance – Trans.), IFES, NDI, and PACT. These funds were used to finance ten media projects, the largest of which was the "Register of Z-Traitors". This database includes more than 60 UOC hierarchs and clergy, including the Primate, the Chancellor, the Head of the Department for External Church Relations (DECR), and several ruling bishops. Additionally, "Chesno" listed boxer Vasyl Lomachenko in the register for his support of the UOC.

Previously, the UOJ reported that former MP and UOC Protodeacon Vadym Novynskyi was charged with treason.
